This week's What's New article highlights several key developments: The GAP filed a petition with the EPA to warn Ohio residents about soil contamination from a train derailment. The EPA's PFBS toxicity assessment was found flawed by its Office of Inspector General. Proposed settlements and notices of violation were issued for Clean Water Act and air emission infractions in California and Colorado. A study revealed high levels of ethylene oxide in Louisiana, and concerns are rising over the costs of treating PFAS in drinking water. Additionally, Arkansas introduced a new general permit for industrial storm water activities. Resources include a wildfire evacuation checklist and an August 2024 EHS employee newsletter.
